Easy Sleepover Solutions

Sleepovers and slumber parties are a big part of raising kids, so you might as well be prepared for them. Preparation can be as simple as investing in a foam mattress, sleeping bag or nap mat, or as elaborate as a daybed or trundle bed; much depends on the space and resources you have available.

A mattress that can be easily rolled up and stored is a handy solution and beats tossing sofa cushions on the floor. A sleeping bag can be laid atop the foam mattress or placed directly on a carpeted floor. As kids grow up they become more demanding; that’s when a futon, daybed or trundle bed can be very useful.

A daybed is often found in a guest room or craft room and can be made up to look almost like a sofa with tailored bedding; other styles of daybed bedding range from frilly and feminine to classic and even country styles. With kids involved, you may wish to invest in a set of daybed bedding specifically designated for sleepovers and keep the guest set tucked away for when company comes.

A futon can be a real life-saver for sleepovers, especially in the family room or den. The kids will lounge on it by day, watch TV and then fold it flat for a simple sleeping solution. You may invest in a set of futon bedding or just let the kids place their sleeping bag or nap mat atop the futon to keep it super easy.
