A David Suzuki usually is a paid pitchman for environmentialism. How many Speaking Engagements is he paid for a year ? How long has he been on the taxpayers tit? IF you are using a dimmer you are using a resistor no matter what. You cannot dim a light or control the speed of an electrical motor without resistance. Resistance allows the Sine wave that power makes 30 to 35 times per second to be adjusted to create the effect of dimming. The Current is demanded no matter how you alter that Sine Wave of 60 to 70 HZ.
Again on this Suzuki gets it totally wrong probably reading a script that was wrote by people ignorant of basic electric theory.

Depends if you are using a resistor or not… most modern houses do not.
David Suzuki in this video shows ignorance . dimmers do not adjust Energy consumption.
Dimmers are resisters and all you do is take the same load and apply it to resistor.
Mr Suzuki is wrong in trying to have Germany as a model for us to follow in regards to electric generation . Fact is Germany has 65 percent of electric power generated by Coal, Oil and Natural Gas. Canada has 65 percent produced with falling water which does not admit CO2. a further 20 percent Nuclear in Canada . FACTS
I want to point out one tip here is incorrect. Dimming Lights does not reduce energy consumption. A Dimmer is a variable Resistor that a user controls. IF a 100 watt light bulb is has a dimmer applying a setting having the bulb half as bright as full brightness then what you are doing is heating a resistor in a Wall.
The bulb and dimmer still consume 100 watts of electricity. A variable resistor only adjusts the sine wave generated by electrically current.
I bet that lying fruitfly has his head all over the place during the Vancouver Olympics. I guarantee you he makes sure he’s part of it.
And what argument does Suzuki have? None. He scammed a whole lot of money and proved nothing. Get treatment for your bipolar problem.

i noticed that the usual people who attack environmental concerns or activists like David Suzuki are either religious people, or bi polar individuals, also full bred conservatives, go educate yourselves. also if you have some comments toward what i just said, an educated person would give an argument to what i have just said cause opinions are worthless because no one cares.

david s. it’s better to open the dishwasher right after it’s done. the heat when it’s opened helps to dry the dishes. puttin it on right right before bed can have u waking up to not a so happy surprise

i save energy too! They say that lowering your temperature saves polar bears! Thats what I did. I bought a air conditioner and now it lowers my temperature in the summers! It only uses 1.2kwh electricity!

I would love to run my dishwasher / washing machine at night before going to bed but when you’re in a Condo building, that’s a big No No to the seniors who live around me and have nothing else to complain about but laundry noise.
